Key Features and Benefits
Microbiological Inactivation via Ultraviolet Light:
How UV Light Treats Water:
Effectiveness of UV Treatment:
UV light occupies the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum between X-rays and visible light. A specific range of UV wavelengths (between 200 and 300 nanometers) is capable of inactivating microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia. UV treatment provides rapid, effective inactivation of microorganisms through a physical process.
Unlike standard incandescent bulbs, UV lamps contain a small amount of mercury vapor. When microorganisms are exposed to UV light, their DNA is damaged, preventing replication. Thymine dimers form in the DNA, rendering microorganisms incapable of reproducing. UV light has demonstrated efficacy against organisms responsible for diseases like cholera, polio, typhoid, and hepatitis.
Requires no transportation, storage, or handling of chemicals. Does not create carcinogenic by-products. Inactivates a broad range of microorganisms, including chlorine-resistant Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and viruses. UV can also be used for Taste and Odour events using an Advanced Oxidation method.

TROJAN UV MODELS

Trojan UV3000 Plus
The TrojanUV3000Plus® is one of the reasons why UV is now a favored technology in wastewater treatment. As our leading UV system, it has demonstrated effective and reliable performance on six continents where more than 2,000 municipalities rely on it to treat over 30 billion gallons of wastewater every day.

Trojan UV Signa
The TrojanUVSigna® incorporates innovations, including TrojanUV Solo Lamp® Technology, to reduce the total cost of ownership and drastically simplify operation and maintenance. It is an ideal solution for wastewater treatment plants in need of revolutionary UV technology.

Trojan Flex AOP
The TrojanUVFlex®AOP can be part of the solution for meeting the challenging demands of growing communities in terms of an insufficient supply of high quality drinking water. This UV advanced oxidation system has been used to break down 1,4-dioxane, NDMA, MIB and Geosmin.

Trojan UV 3000B
The TrojanUV3000®B is a simple, yet robust system designed for small wastewater treatment plants that are looking to treat 1 – 5 MGD (158 – 789 m3/hr). The system is straightforward to use and requires minimal operator involvement thanks to its modular design and proven components.

Trojan UVSwift
The TrojanUVSwift® is a testament to our commitment to providing water confidence. Engineered and built for dependable performance, the TrojanUVSwift offers an effective solution for drinking water treatment and taste & odor (T&O) control. TrojanUVSwift has been validated through microbial testing. Performance data has been generated for UV dose delivery to inactivate microorganisms Cryptosporidium, Giardia, E.coli, and Adenovirus.

Trojan SwiftSC
The TrojanUVSwift®SC is designed to treat flow rates of 20 gallons per minute (GPM) to 16 million gallons per day (MGD) or 4.5 to 2,525 m3/hr. These compact UV systems offer communities an economical solution for drinking water treatment.
The TrojanUVSwift®SC has been validated through microbial testing. Through this testing, performance data has been generated for UV dose delivery to inactivate microorganisms Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and Adenovirus.
