General contractor Metso Outotec selected H2Flow Tanks & Systems to supply two epoxy-fused-to-steel bolted tanks for process water storage within the plant. H2Flow Tanks supplied two bolted epoxy-fused-to-steel tanks sized for distinct roles within the pastefill plant: a larger reclaim water tank serving the paste plant, and a smaller tank at the booster station. Both tanks are suited to the remote, northern operating environment at Voisey's Bay, where reliable, corrosion-resistant storage is essential to continuous plant operation. Prior to further downstream treatment, consistent flow and load management was essential, particularly given the variable discharge volumes inherent to beverage production operations. H2Flow supplied and installed a 2,000 m³ stainless steel equalization tank, designed to receive and buffer incoming wastewater ahead of the DAF treatment stage. The tank provides the downstream system with a stable, consistent feed, helping to protect treatment performance across varying production schedules and shift patterns. Due to the facility's location in a busy area surrounded by residential and commercial neighbours, odour control was an equally important consideration. H2Flow partnered with Biorem Technologies to design and supply a carbon-based odour control system, ensuring that emissions from the equalization tank were effectively captured and treated before reaching the surrounding community. The existing facility operated at the primary treatment level, which was no longer sufficient to meet the effluent quality standards required for sub-surface disposal. H2Flow was engaged to design, supply, and commission a complete solution that would bring the plant up to full biological nutrient removal capability. H2Flow supplied and commissioned a pre-fabricated packaged ISAM-SBR (Intermittently Aerated and Mixed Sequencing Batch Reactor) system, purpose-built for the site's footprint and operational requirements. The scope of supply included an Alum dosing system for phosphorus removal, a Carbon source dosing system to support biological denitrification, and a tertiary filter for suspended solids polishing, ensuring the final effluent met the stringent quality thresholds required for sub-surface disposal.
