Project Description
When a meat processing facility undertook a significant plant expansion, it created a need for a dedicated industrial wastewater treatment solution capable of handling the high-strength effluent characteristic of food and beverage operations. H2Flow was engaged early in the process, contributing to the design of the treatment room layout before a single piece of equipment was specified — ensuring the final system was practical, maintainable, and built to fit the space from the ground up.
H2Flow designed and supplied a complete end-to-end wastewater treatment system built around Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technology, purpose-suited for the fats, oils, greases, and suspended solids loads typical of meat processing wastewater. The system was engineered as a fully integrated solution, incorporating an inlet lift station to collect and transfer incoming wastewater, mechanical screening to remove coarse solids, an equalization tank to buffer flow and load variations across production shifts, a DAF unit to separate suspended solids and fats from the wastewater stream, a sludge handling system to manage the material removed during treatment, and a central automated PLC control panel to tie the entire system together and allow reliable day-to-day operation with minimal manual intervention.
The treated effluent is discharged to the municipal sewer system in compliance with local trade waste requirements, giving the facility a sustainable and responsible path forward as production volumes grow.
